Hello and welcome!

I am a mum of three daughters, qualified ESOL teacher with the experience of working with primary school children creatively.

Recent lecturing post:  teaching English through arts at Lewisham and Southwark College.

I was away for 3 year project in Poland where I set up an innovative way of teaching English through workshops ( the empiric approach- by engaging pupil's senses; the body has a kinetic memory and the information that has been processed by the body is proven to be remembered). Workshops were run from home so the children had a relaxed atmosphere,  a small group, access to cooking, baking facilities  and an open space layout which boosted the learning process. In our curriculum we were discovering the cultures of a given country by looking at Arts, Music, cuisine, Geography and Architecture.

It is my absolute pleasure and joy to be working with children: I'm passionate about creativity, stimulating their minds, igniting curiosity, providing an inspiration, enabling little individuals to go outside their comfort zones, trying something new and making new experiences through arts and crafts - which will hopefully become a part of who they are and  help them to shape their personality/ identity.

I'm a big advocate of a holistic approach when it comes to educating children. I believe that not only their soul needs to be nourished with art but also the body needs to be looked after by providing healthy/ nutrient dense, unprocessed food: I encourage no sugar, no gluten to keep those creative minds nurtured and to promote healthy habits.

When it comes to stimulating their senses, there is always a classical music playing in the background as it is proven by scientist to be beneficial to our children on so many levels: it calms the brain; helps develop the genes that secrete dopamine and improves synaptic function. University of London has proven that the children who listen to Mozart and Beethoven are more disciplined and their concentration skills are improved.

When it comes to aromas- I am diffusing doTerra essential oils to harmonise their emotions: Lavender to calm down, "Balance" to ground, citrus oils on a rainy day for an energy pick up, Lemon for concentration and "On Guard"  during the cold and flue season to help to ward off those nasty germs! I love the way how the oils seem to have an instant benefit; by enjoying a beautiful aroma children respond to it naturally.

If you would like to find out more information about the amazing therapeutic properties of the oils I'm happy to share it with you, how our family has been using the plant essences and natural solutions in our everyday life.

Last but not least, I would like to mention that I wouldn't be in this place if it wasn't for a very special person:  my three daughter's art teacher - Donna Bompas- who had been running "Art for Kids" classes since 1995 from her studio in Chislehurst but sadly and suddenly lost her life to cancer on 30th Jan 2018 at the age of 65.

She was an inspiration  and a mentor on this journey and will be remembered as an amazing role model. I'm forever grateful to have met her on the path of my life. Her legacy of introducing love for art in our hearts continues to live in our lives!

Thank you Donna! R.I.P.
